RS/6000 Firewall Value Add Description
To qualify for an approved firewall Value Add, a company
must have demonstrated expertise in this particular area.
Pulsar Systems had to provide several sites where we had successfully installed firewall systems. The end user was
interviewed to ascertain their satisfaction, and only then was the approval granted. In addition, formal Certification in this value add
is also possible, and Pulsar Systems also holds this distinction. Certification is obtained by formal testing to verify a thorough
understanding of the subject matter.This includes the following:
- Selection of the correct firewall software or appliance
- The installation of the current version of the Firewall software or appliance
- The configuration and implementation of appropriate TCP/IP connections
- The configuration and implementation of appropriate LAN or WAN communication connections
- The customization and implementation of the Firewall, including
some combination of: IP Filtering Rules Set-up, Proxy Server Set-up, SOCKS Server Set-up
